Happy Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Day!

As we prepare for Thanksgiving tomorrow, I want to express how extremely grateful I am for the Worldmind community and the unique contributions each person makes to our community on a whole.

We have much to be thankful for this year, including excellent teachers, a beautiful school building, curious and engaged students, and supportive families.

As I reflect on what we have accomplished together, I am also thinking about the origin of this holiday and the importance of learning about the Native American people, whose complex experiences are often absent or oversimplified in our historical narrative.

To honor the Worldmind ethos of deepening our understanding of others and approaching situations and people with curiosity instead of judgment, here is a link to a collection of Native American and Alaska Native documentaries that explore their lives and history.

Happy Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Day! I hope you have time to rest, recharge, and enjoy.
